Author Rachael O. Phillips will be presenting a program at the Mercer County District Library, Monday May 1 at 6:00 pm. She will be speaking about her writing career and giving us insight on where she gets ideas for her writings
As a church music director, Rachael began her unplanned writing career when the church secretary needed newsletter articles. She has written over 700 newspaper columns, devotions, and stories along with several books. Her books include several nonfiction titles, including Well with My Soul: four dramatic stories of great hymn writers and Women of the Bible. Her fiction titles include four titles in the Amish Mystery series; Secrets of the Amish Diary, Murder Simply Played , Silent Betrayal and A Grave Inheritance, and other stand-alone titles, such as Kissing Bridges and The Return of Miss Blueberry.
She attended Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana and received degrees in Professional Writing and English. While there she wrote articles and humor columns for the South Bend Tribune.
In 2007, she was the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Genesis winner and a 2012 finalist for an ACFW Carol award. She enjoys writing humor for which she received an Erma Bombeck Global Award.
