Our libraries offer multiple ways to help you get connected. We have free wifi, lend library hotspots, and help patrons find affordable internet plans right for them.

Affordable, Internet, and Computers
Thanks to “Bridging the Gap,” a partnership between PCs for People and Mobile Beacon, the library is now able to provide access to high-quality, affordable refurbished computers and first-class uncapped, unlimited, high-speed internet service to help income eligible individuals and families break the cycle of poverty.
The process is easy, but you must have:
- a photo ID
- an email address
- a document that shows your proof of eligibility
- a credit or debit card to process your payment
To purchase a device and/or Internet service:
- Browse devices and Internet service plans online at mcdl.pcsrefurbished.com.
- Select a device, any peripherals, and any software you’d like, and add it to the cart.
- Create a PCs for People account. You will need an email address to register.
- Upload your photo ID and proof of eligibility. The proof of eligibility document must be under 12 months old, have your name on it, and show current enrollment in an income-based government assistance program. Acceptable documents include:
- Adult & Child Mental Health Case Management
- Employment Services (only if income-based in your state)
- Extended Foster Care
- Food Support (e.g. WIC, SNAP) (a dated letter showing current eligibility is required)
- Financial Assistance, such as GA, TANF, etc. (a dated letter showing current eligibility is required)
- Head Start
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Medicaid or Medical Assistance (bring a document that says “MA” or “Medical Assistance” on it)
- The National School Lunch Program’s Free or Reduced Lunch Program
- Section 8, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Group Residential Housing (GRH)
- Section 42, Low Income Housing Tax Credit unit or other HUD low income program
- Social Security Disability (SSD) OR Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Pell Grant
- State, federal, or tribal tax return (W2 forms not accepted) with qualifying household income (less than 200% of federal poverty guidelines or 60% of area median income). See Mercer County data here.
- Check out and pay for your refurbished device and any Internet service selected with a credit or debit card. No payments will be collected by the library. All payments, financial information, and eligibility are processed and approved by PCs for People through the web site (mcdl.pcsrefurbished.com).
- You may have your new equipment shipped to either your home address, or to one of our library locations. If you opt to pick it up at the library, we will contact you when it is ready for pickup. Please bring photo ID. Call 419-586-4442 if you need assistance or to schedule a 1-on-1 appointment.
